The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified their fight against smuggling of illegal drugs into Nigeria.
The other day, it was a big catch, intercepting a bus taking drugs worth over 10 million Naira to Kaduna.
This time, the NDLEA made the big catch at the Tincan port in Lagos.
Agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) seized 126 packages of Canadian Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis.
The latest seizure was contained in a statement made on Sunday in Abuja by the Agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi.
Mr. Babafemi said that a used Toyota Corolla automobile purchased from Canada contained the 63 kg of narcotics.
A crate labeled TLLU 4840762 contained five cars, including the automobile, he claimed.
Other Seizures
He added that the NDLEA operatives had earlier thwarted an attempt by a freight agent, Mordi Chukwuemeka, to export 900 grams of Loud, on Saturday.
He added that the pills were smuggled into Kenya in a travel bag that also included food.
According to him, the drugs were seized at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos’ Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc export shed, according to Mr. Babafemi.

“Operators discovered that the side walls of the bag were unevenly bloated while checking the consignment after Mordi handed the bag, which he claimed contained food products for export.
“This happened after which they dismantled the false packings and recovered the illicit substance.”
The NDLEA spokesperson also said men of the agency’s Directorate of Operations and Investigation attached to courier firms, on Thursday intercepted 1.53 kilogrammes of skunk.
Mr Babafemi said the drugs were concealed in old hard drives meant for export to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
