Napoli are reportedly angered by Victor Osimhen’s decision to turn down a potential move to Manchester United during the January transfer window.
The Nigerian striker, currently on loan at Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray, has opted to remain with the club for the rest of the season, despite interest from the Premier League giants.
Victor Osimhen, has made it clear to Napoli director Giovanni Manna that he has no intention of leaving Galatasaray before his loan deal expires.
This decision has frustrated Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, who views it as an attempt to complicate the club’s plans.
Napoli had inserted a break-up clause in Osimhen’s contract when he joined Galatasaray on loan last September, hoping to secure €81 million from his sale this month.
The funds were intended to bolster Napoli’s squad during the January transfer window.
Manchester United were reportedly eager to sign Osimhen to address their attacking struggles this season.
However, the striker’s refusal to return to Napoli or consider other offers has thrown a wrench in the Serie A club’s plans.
