The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Yola, Kebbi, has acquired 10 heavy trucks from the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to enhance its operational efficiency.
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar inaugurated the vehicles on Friday at the NAF base,Yola.
Abubakar, represented by NAF Chief of Logistics, AVM Aminu Yakubu, said that the vehicles were procured from the NCS through auction.
“The vehicles after the purchase had been fully refurbished and allocated to various Units of the NAF.
“The vehicles will undoubtedly, enhance our operational efficiency by easing the distribution of logistic supplies to units around the country as well as support our counter-insurgency and other internal security efforts,” Abubakar said.

The CAS said that the gesture of the Custom service would support its efforts towards bequeathing a robust logistic support system.
He expressed immense appreciation of the thoughtfulness of the Comptroller General of the NCS, Col. Hameed Ali Rtd., for the numerous support to NAF.
The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that the trucks include five extra long body and Five extra short body.
The vehicles have been formally issued to 21 QRW Agatu, 23 QRW Gembu. 643 ESD Ikeja and 203 CRG Gombe.
