Chidimma Adetshina who represented Nigeria in the Miss Universe 2024 competition which took place in Mexico City, Mexico on Saturday has celebrated after emerging first runner-up.
Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, was crowned the 2024 Miss Universe, triumphing over 124 contestants from around the globe to win the coveted title.
Speaking in an interview shortly after her win, Chidimma expressed her excitement and pride at the achievement.
”I’m so excited. I don’t have words to describe what I’m feeling right now, but I’m so proud of myself, and I just made history,” she said.

Nigerians celebrated Chidimma for defying the odds against her even when she had to withdraw from Miss South Africa beauty Pageant due as a result of her Nigerian-South African identity.
However, Miss South Africa withdrew from the 2024 Miss Universe competition due to “health concerns”.
The Miss Universe 2024 happens to be the 73rd Miss Universe competition held.
