Mason Greenwood has been remanded in custody after appearing at Manchester Magistrates’ Court charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior and assault.
The player was first held in January over allegations relating to a young woman after images and videos were posted online.
The Manchester United forward’s case has been adjourned to November 21, when a pre-trial preparation hearing will take place at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court.

Wearing a grey Nike hoodie and white T-shirt, the 21-year-old confirmed his name, date of birth and address before his barrister, David Toal, made a bail application.
Greenwood faces three charges, all relating to the same alleged victim
- Attempting to rape a woman on October 22, 2021
- Engaging in controlling and coercive behavior between November 1, 2018 and October 15, 2022.
- Assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm between December 12 and 31, 2021
Greenwood was re-arrested on Saturday following an allegation that he breached his bail conditions by contacting the alleged victim.
