The lyrics to the controversial chant sung by Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez and his Argentina team-mates contained racist and transphobic language.
Enzo Fernandez’s footage of a racist chant sung by him, and Argentina players was filled with hateful rhetoric – and seemingly took aim at Kylian Mbappe.
The Chelsea midfielder has been under immense scrutiny after posting a video of himself and his Argentina team-mates singing a racist chant aimed at the French national team after their 1-0 win over Colombia in the Copa America final on Monday (July 15), which is currently being investigated by the Premier League giants.

“Listen, spread the word, they play in France, but they are all from Angola, they are going to run well, they like to sleep with trans people, their mum is Nigerian, their dad is Cameroonian, but on the passport it says: French”
While the 23-year-old has since apologised for the offensive song, the despicable footage has not gone down well with several of his Blues team-mates.
Frenchmen Malo Gusto, Axel Disasi and Wesley Fofana have appeared to unfollow the Argentine on Instagram, with the latter blasting his club colleague as he posted the video on X and on his Instagram story with the caption: “Football in 2024: uninhibited racism”.

However, the chant – which contained racist and transphobic diction – stunned the footballing world.
Also, members of the Argentine squad began belting out the hateful song with the lyrics:
“On passport, French nationality, listen, spread the word, they play in France, but they are all…”, before someone is heard saying “cut the video”.
