The Lagos State government is set to release findings into an elevator crash that led to the death of Dr Vwaere Daiso.

Daiso died on August 1 at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos-Island after an elevator she entered crash-landed.

Several Nigerians began calling for a probe into the hospital and its lift installer, and staff revealed they had been calling the government’s attention for three years.

In a statement issued Friday by Olumide Sogunle, Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Information and Strategy, the government said the police had arrested the lift installer, and a panel probing the incident would release its findings on Saturday.

Sogunle said the panel invited a lift expert to the accident scene to look at the lift and give preliminary opinion.

He said this panel was set up on Thursday, and within 48 hours they had concluded their findings.
