Despite being a woman to hold this political position for the first time, members of the Lagos House of Assembly and leaders of the Governing Advisory Council (GAC) gave Rt. Hon. Princess Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, a resounding backing on Monday.
According to them, the election as the first female speaker of the state assembly stands.
Rt. Hon. Meranda, alongside other members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, met with the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC)
yesterday at the Lagos House, Marina.
Furthermore, the meeting aimed to align perspectives and dispel any doubt or circulating rumors regarding the Assembly’s leadership.
Consequently, the leaders and other members of the assembly stated their resolve to stand with the newly appointed Lagos speaker, Princess Meranda, thereby solidifying her position as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

In addition, she was advised to go about her business and ensure that she upholds her promise of inclusive, just and collaborative legislation, for the good of the people and the state of Lagos.
