Kenneth Okonkwo, the former spokesman for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, has officially ended his political ties with the party and its 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent lawyer and veteran Nollywood actor, shared his decision in a statement on his X account on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
Also, He cited Peter Obi’s failure to resolve ongoing crises within the Labour Party as the primary reason for his departure.
Kenneth Okonkwo expressed his disappointment with Obi’s inability to unify the party and lead it to success in future elections.
Also, he noted that the challenges facing the Labour Party since the 2023 elections have not been adequately addressed by Obi.
Furthermore, the actor believes Peter Obi could have used his influence to resolve the party’s crisis.
Also, Okonkwo stated that the former Anambra State Governor lacks the capacity to build a robust political platform.
Furthermore, Okonkwo explained his decision. “The current state of the Labour Party has motivated me to seek a new direction for my political career.
“After the 2023 general election, many Nigerians, including myself, had high hopes for the Labour Party.
