Nigerian actress Kehinde Bankole has revealed the criteria she follows when deciding whether to participate in nude scenes on screen.
Also, she emphasised that she respects creative storytelling.
However, there are specific conditions under which she would consider accepting a nude role in a movie.
During a candid interview on the popular podcast Duke Rants, the actress was asked how far she would go in pushing the boundaries of her craft.
In the now-trending video from the podcast, Bankole addressed the question of whether she would ever take on a role that required her to appear nude.
Also, she clarified that while she is open to challenging roles.
The decision would depend heavily on whether it is “intelligently required” for the story being told.
“I don’t like that question because the answer can easily be taken out of context, especially on the internet,“ Kehinde Bankole responded thoughtfully.
“I will just say that I can do what is artistically required.
But it has to be intelligently required, not just required for the sake of it.”
Furthermore, Bankole explained that she believes powerful storytelling doesn’t always need explicit elements like nudity or excessive kissing to make an impact.
According to her, a good story can be told without relying on these aspects unless they are essential to the narrative in a meaningful way.
