Kano State government has taken decisive action against popular Kannywood actress Samha Inuwa by revoking her operating license.
The decision was made in response to allegations of indecent dressing and the posting of vulgar content on social media platforms.
In addition to the license revocation, the government announced a 12-month ban on Samha Inuwa from appearing in any films.
Effectively sidelining her from the Kannywood industry for a year.
Also, the move was confirmed in a statement released on Saturday by the Information Officer for the Kano State Censorship Board, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, .
According to Sulaiman, the actress had been repeatedly warned about her “crude dressing and vulgar displays”
Despite prior cautions, Samha Inuwa continued to violate the strict cultural and moral guidelines upheld by the Board.
However, this prompted widespread complaints from Kano citizens.
The statement emphasised that the decision was made after careful consideration of the grievances submitted by members of the public.
As part of the sanctions, the government has also censored any films featuring Samha.

Also, the Board reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the cultural and moral fabric of Kano State.
The Board stated that it would not hesitate to take similar actions against other individuals found in violation of its regulations.
