Former Minister of Finance, and one of the two shortlisted candidate for the position of Director-General, World Trade Organisation, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is currently in a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Dr. Okonjo-Iweala is Nigeria’s representative for the position which is expected to take place very soon.
The former minister was accompanied to the President office by the Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubairu Dada, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo and the Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment, Mariam Katagu
iBrandTV had reported that President Buhari has since expressed his support and that of his administration to her effort to clinch the plump post.

Okonjo-Iweala, was Coordinating Minister of the Economy during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
