Instagram has unveiled its latest creation, Edits — a free, feature-packed video editing app poised to rival the popular CapCut.
Announced amidst growing uncertainty surrounding TikTok’s potential ban in the U.S., this strategic launch marks Instagram’s ambitious push to empower creators like never before.
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, took to his account to break the news with a compelling message:
“Today we’re announcing a new app called ‘Edits’ for those of you who are passionate about making videos on your phone. There’s a lot going on right now, but no matter what happens, it’s our job to provide the best possible tools for creators.”
Edits is set to challenge ByteDance’s CapCut.
Edits aims to provide a seamless and intuitive platform for short-form video creators.
Currently available for pre-order on the iOS App Store, the app will officially launch next month,.
