The organisers of The Headies awards have revealed plans for two separate ceremonies in 2025. For the first time, the prestigious awards show will host two editions in one year.
Ayo Animashuan, the founder of The Headies, made the announcement during the 17th Headies Big announcement event held in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The 17th edition is scheduled for April 5, 2025, with the theme ‘Back to Base,’ celebrating the best of Nigerian music in 2024.
The nominations for the 17th edition will be revealed on February 12, allowing fans and industry professionals to see who has been recognised for their contributions to Nigerian music.
Additionally, an 18th edition will take place in December 2025, though the exact date has yet to be confirmed.
After hosting editions in the United States in 2022 and 2023, The Headies will return to Nigeria in 2024.
The 16th edition was held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, marking a successful international experience for the awards show.
