Google One Subscription Prices Go Up In Nigeria

Nigerians using Google One for extra storage will soon pay more, as Google announces a price hike from ₦1,200 to ₦1,900/month starting March 28, 2025.

The increase comes amid rising costs in the tech sector, with similar adjustments expected across other subscription tiers.

Google

The tech giant directly informed users via email, stating that it will apply the new rate automatically unless subscribers choose to cancel.

Google One offers additional storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos, making it an essential tool for individuals and businesses managing large digital files.

Price Hike Extends Beyond Nigeria

Beyond Nigeria, Google has also raised prices in countries such as Australia, Brazil, Egypt, and Türkiye.

Although the announcement focused on the basic plan, many expect higher-tier subscriptions to follow suit.

Rising Cost In The Tech Sector

This decision comes as tech and telecom companies continue adjusting their pricing to counter inflation and difficult economic conditions.

As a result, many Nigerian users now worry about the rising costs of digital services in an already challenging financial climate.
