Gary Neville has criticised Liverpool for posting a statement criticising the PGMOL after Luis Diaz’s goal against Tottenham was wrongly ruled out.
Liverpool issued a damning statement on Sunday after Diaz’s goal was wrongly ruled out against Tottenham.
The PGMOL admit that a ‘significant human error’ occurred, but the Reds claim that the explanation was “unacceptable” and say that there is a “clear need for escalation and resolution”.
Liverpool were left reeling after their defeat to Spurs.
They had both Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota sent off, while Joel Matip scored a 96th-minute own goal to condemn them to a devastating defeat.
Still, Manchester United legend, Neville, believes that the Reds have overstepped the mark with their statement.
They have strayed into both “dangerous phrases” and “aggressive” language.
Neville wrote on X: “Jurgen Klopp handled the situation well last night after the game.
“Most football fans will have had empathy with what happened and recognised it was wrong!
“However, Liverpool’s statement tonight is a mistake!
“Talk of exploring all options (what does that mean!!!) and sporting integrity are dangerous phrases along with being vague and aggressive.
