The European Parliament in Brussels is being probed for allegedly receiving a bribe from the 2022 World Cup host country, Qatar.
On Monday, Belgian Investigators searched offices at the parliament for proof of the bribe allegations.
This search was the 20th search carried out since Friday and Belgian Police have charged four people from the European Parliament.
The charged persons include one of the parliament’s Vice Presidents, Eva Kaili whose lawyer claim is innocent.
“She declares her innocence and that she has nothing to do with bribery from Qatar,” her lawyer, Michalis Dimitrakopoulos said on TV, on Tuesday.

However, she has been suspended from her duties and a vote will take place to strip her of her roles, on Tuesday.
The IT resources of 10 parliamentary employees have also been “frozen” to prevent the disappearance of necessary data for the investigation.
Prosecutors revealed that four suspects have been charged with “participation in a criminal organization, money laundering, and corruption” and they are set to appear before a pre-trial court on Wednesday.
