Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly standing by his comments on Jadon Sancho despite the winger’s “scapegoat” response.
The England international forward was left out of the Red Devils’ squad for a Premier League clash with Arsenal.
Explaining that absence afterwards, Ten Hag said of why he chose to overlook the 23-year-old: “On his performance in training we didn’t select him.”
Sancho then offered his version of events on social media, stating:
“Please don’t believe everything you read! I have conducted myself in training very well this week.
“I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t get into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!”
