Disney has released the first trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel to “Moana”.
The trailer shows Moana and Maui, voiced by Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson, going on a new ocean adventure.
According to the official description, the events in “Moana 2” take place three years after the first film.
Moana receives a call from her ancestors to sail to new waters and reconnect with her people across the ocean.
In the trailer, Moana says, “This is a call from the ancestors to sail to new skies and reconnect our people across the entire ocean.”
Maui then appears on her boat, joking about a chicken and pig being “boat snacks”.
The film was written and directed by David G. Derrick Jr. in his first feature-length directorial debut.
The music team from the first film, including Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, will return to write songs for the sequel.”
