The Nigerian Army had told Nigerians that Lagbaja traveled out of the country for treatment.

However, as time went on, reports of his demise began to filter in.

News of Lagbaja’s death stirred a storm, especially as it was reported that the Army was trying so hard to keep his death hidden.

There was a little bit of calm after the Nigerian Army dismissed the report.

Nigerians did not connect the dots until President Bola Tinubu announced Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede as the acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the Nigerian Army.

A statement was released on Wednesday by President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

To him, General Oluyede, a seasoned military officer, previously served as the 56th Commander of the Infantry Corps in Jaji, Kaduna.

This latest development has sparked another layer of controversy.

However, amidst this chaos, one question continues begging for an answer.
