Cardoso Fully Committed To New CBN Service Charter 

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has registered his commitment towards the newly approved service charter.

Upon approving the newly reviewed Service Charter of the CBN, the governor, Dr. Olayemi Cardoso, restated his commitment to the document.

On Wednesday, Cardoso said the second edition of the charter supports the bank’s vision of being a “People-focused central bank”.

The Charter is a requirement of the Business Facilitation Act (BFA) 2022, for driving ease of doing business in Nigeria.

CBN Fully Committed To Service Charter Document Implementation

“The CBN, being a responsible corporate citizen, is committed to full compliance of the laws and regulations of the country and other international obligations,” Cardoso, said.

Also, he explained that the Service Compact (SERVICOM) expresses the federal government’s commitment to providing more responsive and citizen-friendly governance.

This, Cardoso believes, can be achieved through quality service delivery that is efficient, accountable, and transparent.

According to him, the Service Charter document remains one of the requirements of SERVICOM which expresses the CBN’s commitment to its customers.

“The Service Charter conveys our pledge to customers in respect of courtesy and standard of service, information dissemination, availability of consultation, non-discrimination and accessibility to service, and grievance redress mechanism,” he further explained.

Cardoso revealed that the CBN is committed to, “fully implementing the document and ensuring excellent customer service delivery.”

“I, therefore, enjoin our valued customers to fulfill their obligations as enshrined herein to help us serve them better.”

The document clearly outlines CBN’s mandates, vision, mission, and core values as well as lists services offered by the CBN.

The Charter also includes a standardised Customer Complaints Form for reporting service failure as well as a mechanism for addressing service failure in the bank.
