Speed Darlington was rearrested on November 27 over allegations of cyberstalking fellow artist, Burna Boy.
However, he remains in police custody nearly a month after his bail was approved.

Also, this has sparked outrage among his supporters and legal team, who accuse the police of blatantly disregarding the court’s directive.

In a statement shared on Friday, Alieke lamented the difficulty of securing Darlington’s release.

Also, he stated that he had exhausted all possible avenues, including leveraging political connections in Abuja.

Furthermore, he accused the police of defying the court order without any justification.

“We have done everything a lawyer should do to get his client out. I have even exhausted all my connections. I have reached out to my political friends here in Abuja, but the police have refused to obey the court order. There’s no justification for this continued detention,” Alieke said.

In a now-viral video shared on Instagram, the lawyer also insinuated that Burna Boy might have influenced the situation by bribing the police.

He recalled an earlier incident in October when Speed Darlington was first arrested.
