Borno Blast: Death toll hits 16, 60 Injured, as survivors count ordeals

Following the bomb blast that rocked Borno State, the death toll had risen to 16 as over 60 injured persons are currently receiving treatment at the State Specialists Hospital and University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).

iBrandTV reported that Boko haram fired RPGs and explosions on Tuesday.

During governor Babagana Zulum visit to the injured ones, he confirmed that 10 people were killed in the multiple explosions, unfortunately, it was gathered that six others who sustained serious injuries could not make it, as they lost their lives bringing a total number of 16 dead.

When our Correspondent visited the two hospitals where the victims are currently receiving treatment, he was not allowed access as most of the victims are in emergency and Intensive Care units which guarantees only medical health workers on duty call.

A survivor in Kaleri /Adam Kolo, one of the densely populated places affected within the metropolis, Alhaji Musa Kolomi aged 71, who did not want his picture in print said, “We were sitting just before magrib prayers then we saw something coming from a distance and it fell in the middle of the road. It tore the car that was parked there in pieces and those of us that were there got hit by the impact.

A man who picked a mat to go to the mosque got hit and his skull was opened and he died instantly. Then the rest of us injured, my leg started bleeding and i held it tight, two other boys hit on the head were taken to Costain (UMTH).

Another Survivor in Gwange, Abubakar Mohammed said, “I was just standing then i heard the bomb fall, but l think its a rocket launcher because it came from up. I was in front of my house. There were a lot of us there, because some of the people even got killed instantly. It was in Layin bori near COCIN church.”
