Black Adam, the latest DC movie, is finally here. It introduces the Justice Society of America, made up of Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman, Noah Centineo’s Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell’s Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan’s Doctor Fate, and pits them against Dwayne Johnson’s titular anti-hero.
The film is a spin-off from the 2019 DCU movie Shazam!, which starred Zachary Levi as Billy Batson, who can turn into the film’s eponymous superhero at will.
Also starring Pierce Brosnan and Straight Outta Compton’s Aldis Hodge, Black Adam has been eagerly anticipated throughout its long production cycle.
The character was first created back in 1945 and appeared regularly in Shazam! comics and TV shows throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
The 12th film in the DC Extended Universe, but one that was in development for the longest period of time, it brings the antihero with God-like powers from DC Comics to the silver screen for the very first time. And who better than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – the man who had been cast in the role 15 years ago – to be the one to do it?
No doubt fans around the world are ready to see the film arrive on the big screen, but when can audiences in the United Kingdom expect to see the showdown between Black Adam and the Justice Society of America in movie theaters?
