If you live in Jigawa State there is something the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, wants you to know.

One of the major engagements of the people of the state is farming and the former Vice President is making promises along that line.

“We will also revive farming, cattle rearing and businesses,” Atiku says.

It is one of the last campaigns he will be holding ahead of the February 25 election.

Earlier on Thursday, he sought the thumbs of voters in Jigawa on the PDP tick box, making promises to convince residents to vote for him in the forthcoming general elections.

“I promise you that farming and trading which is the main occupation of the people of Jigawa will be revived.

“We are prepared to give you assistance so that you can partake in agriculture and also in business.

“I promise you that we will open the borders by God’s grace.

“We will also revive farming, cattle rearing and businesses,” Atiku vows.

$10bn For Youths And Women

Mr Atiku stressed his commitment to ensuring the growth of women and youths, promising to invest $10 billion to assist youths and women.

He also vowed to ensure that there would be no teacher’s strike and that children in the state go back to school.

“I will set aside $10 billion to assist youths and women especially. If you vote for our party I promise to fulfil my promise to you,” he said.

Jigawa state is one of the states with the highest number of out-of-school children in Nigeria.

It has over 49,000 out-of-school Fulani children discovered in 2022 in the state.
