For months, the speculation had been rife regarding his status with Olamide’s YBNL.

The confirmation of his departure came with the release of his latest single, ‘Why Love’.

Also, this notably carries the imprint of his newly established label, Giran Republic.

This move signals Asake’s transition from being a YBNL signee to becoming the master of his own musical empire.

While some feared there might have been bad blood between Asake and Olamide, the singer dispelled any notion of discord earlier this year.

His first release of 2024, ‘Military’, paid homage to Olamide.

This indirectly dismisses any speculation of a fallout.

Asake’s Rise to Stardom

Asake’s journey under YBNL Nation began in February 2022, when he was signed to the label.

Within months, he took the Afrobeats scene by storm.
