As Economic Activities Suffer, IGP Set To Boost Security On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The Nigerian Police Force(NPF), led by the Deputy Inspector-General in charge of South West, DIG Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, is set to beef up security along Lagos/Ibadan expressway.

DIG Kokumo, On Friday, embarked on a strategic assessment tour of the expressway, with a focus on locations across the Ogun/Oyo State boundaries.

He was joined by the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command, CP Adebowale Williams, and together they visited locations like Sapade, Alampako, Onigari, and Ogumakin.

The tour was done in a bid to find means to strategically end the incessant case of abductions and restore confidence in road users, ahead of the festive season.

The Deputy Inspector General appealed to residents and stakeholders in the communities to assist police in curbing security threats by providing credible and timely information.

He also promised a remodeling of the security architecture and comprehensive deployment to prevent any case of abduction.

Residents in the area were also advised to download the NPF Rescue Me app or reach out to the emergency lines if an emergency arises
