”I learned the business under my elder brother for four years before starting my own in 2007.

“To succeed in this business, you have to learn the nitty-gritty. Without proper knowledge, funds will be wasted.”

Also, we had a discussion with a vibrant trader, Morris Chukwu who started the business at a young age and has climbed the ranks through perseverance.

“I began learning the business at the age of 18 and trained for seven years.

“Today, I am a manager and doing well, despite the challenges.

“Humility during the apprenticeship is crucial to gaining valuable contacts from your master.”

Morris’s journey so far highlights the essential blend of humility and hard work needed to succeed in this competitive market.

Highly Lucrative Business

IbrandTV also interviewed one of the traders, Mr. Boniface who specializes in cable feeders.

His journey is both inspiring and impactful.

Mr. Boniface shared how he grew in the business and trained other successful business owners.

In addition, he revealed that the business is highly lucrative.

“I learned the business in two years and have trained many people who are now their own bosses.

“The business is lucrative, and I’ve even trained graduates. However, we face the challenge of a lack of power supply.”

Mr. Boniface’s commitment to training others underscores the community’s role in uplifting one another amidst infrastructural challenges.

Interestingly, another trader with the name, Mr. Michael, threw more light on the Igbo-apprenticeship system as it relates to the business.

Not only is Michael’s story one of determination and resilience, but it also shows the ability to rise above initial setbacks.

“My boss did not settle me with much; just 30,000 Naira.

“But with faith and determination, I was able to get on my feet, and today, I am a boss.”
