After Milan’s 1-1 draw with Roma on Sunday, the Portuguese was dismissed from his role after just six months in charge.

Now the Italian giants have acted very swiftly, bringing in former Porto manager Conceicao on a deal until the summer of 2026.

The club statement reads: “AC Milan announces that Sérgio Paulo Marceneiro da Conceição has been appointed as the Head Coach of the men’s First Team until 30 June 2026.

“The Club extends a warm welcome to Sérgio and his staff, wishing a journey full of success and fulfillment.”

However, Conceicao has a big job on his hands as Milan are eighth in Serie A and sit a whopping 14 points behind league leaders Atalanta.

He won 11 trophies during his seven-year stint at Porto but this may be the toughest task of his managerial career.

This is the Rossoneri’s third coach this year in a period of big ups and downs for Christian Pulisic and his team-mates.

However, former Inter Milan player Conceicao will now prepare for Milan’s trip to Juventus in the semi-finals of the Supercoppa Italiana on Friday night.
