Abuja: Panic As Fire Engulfs Ministry Of Works

There was panic in the Mabushi area of Abuja following a fire outbreak at the headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Works.

The incident which occured on Friday morning shortly after workers resumed left many people in panic.

The fire was caused by a spark from a faulty circuit breaker on the ground floor.

Luckily, it was swiftly contained, preventing significant damage on the facility.

The Director of Press and Public Relations, Mohammed A. Ahmed, confirmed the incident.

According to Ahmed: “The fire started at 11:30 am in Block A, originating from a faulty circuit breaker in the electrical control room on the ground floor.”

Meanwhile, the Station Commander of the Federal Fire Service, Mr. Kekai Bekebi, said the fire was quickly brought under control by his team using fire extinguishers.

Furthermore, workers were safely evacuated.

Director of Human Resource Management, Mr. Aliyu Abdullahi, reported that there were no injuries, casualties, or loss of documents during the incident.

He also praised the staff for their orderly behavior during the evacuation.

As of the time of this report, operations have resumed.

Also, maintenance teams are clearing debris and restoring the affected areas.
