In the early hours of 2025, Governor Dapo Abiodun addressed the congregation at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter’s, Ake, Abeokuta, during the Crossover Church Service.
He shared his vision for Ogun State, highlighting its resilience and economic potential.
Firstly, Governor Abiodun proudly announced that Ogun is now Nigeria’s fastest-growing economy and boasts the highest improvement in internally-generated revenue (IGR).
He stated that Ogun, alongside Lagos, is one of the only states capable of thriving without federal intervention or allocations.
“If there is no federal intervention, Ogun and Lagos are the only two states that can stand on their own,” he declared.

Looking ahead, the Governor outlined several key projects, including the revival of the Olokola Deep Seaport, set for launch in early 2025.
This project, along with the Gateway Agro-Cargo Airport and the Kajola Dry Port, forms part of a broader transportation masterplan to transform the state’s infrastructure.
In addition, Governor Abiodun stressed the importance of unity and collaboration.
“As we journey into 2025, let us renew our commitment to each other,” he urged, calling on the people of Ogun to put aside differences for the greater good.
