May 29: Buhari Exit Official Presidential Villa To New Residence

While Nigerians await the verdict of the Presidential Election Tribunal on the numerous petitions filed against President-elect, Bola Tinubu, the outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari, is busy paving the way for his successor.

President Buhari has moved out of his official residence at the Presidential Villa.

He has relocated to the Glass House.

This was done ahead of the inauguration of the President-elect Bola Tinubu, while supporters of opposition parties remain hopeful for a turnaround in court.

The Glass House has served as a transitional abode for the outgoing president and their spouse during the handover period.

It has also traditionally played a crucial role in the transition of power, providing a symbolic and practical space for the outgoing president and their spouse.

President Buhari’s relocation was made known by the First Lady, Aisha Buhari.

She made it known in a video on her Instagram page after showing the incoming First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu around the State House.

Meanwhile, the wife of the President-elect, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, paid a visit to the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Mrs. Tinubu was in Aso Rock for a familiarisation visit and tour ahead of the May 29 inauguration of the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.

The excitement on the face of Remi Tinubu said it all, surely, she must be very happy as she prepares to become the First-lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Mrs. Buhari showed the incoming first lady some strategic areas of the official residence of the Presidential family in Aso Rock.

However, journalists were not allowed access to some parts of the building during the tour.
