More shocking events are still unfolding in relation to the 2023 governorship election. The alleged manipulations by INEC is causing unrest in some part of Nigeria.
So far, the 2023 elections have been the most protested election in the history of Nigeria.
Even after the chaos that accompanied the outcome of the presidential election, INEC seem not to have learnt its lesson.
Strip Protest
Now Women in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State are angry.
On Friday, they stripped themselves half-naked to protest.
They are rejecting the outcome of the governorship election in the state.
The women, who were in their black attires, had placards emblazoned with different inscriptions, and claimed their mandate was stolen, noting that their votes must count.
They demand that INEC must revert the result of the governorship in Nasarawa in the interest of peace.
Women protesters demanded among other things the cancellation of the governorship election.
The protesters marched around major streets of Akwanga topless alleging rigging of the governorship election by INEC in the state and the declaration of results causing traffic gridlock.

They were escorted by the security agencies deployed to forestall the breakdown of law and order in the local government area.

Election Rigging
It is understood that tension has continued to mount in Lafia and some parts of the State, following alleged rigging of the governorship election on March 18.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was returned as the winner of the election.

He defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, David Umbugadu, with a 64,193 margin.
