Dapo Abiodun won against Oladipupo Olatunde his opposition and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with less than 20,000 votes.
The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has been re-elected for a second term of four years.
Mr. Abiodun is the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor won against Oladipupo Olatunde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with less than 20,000 votes.
Governor Abiodun polled 276,298 votes against his PDP opposition who polled 262,383 votes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Abiodun the winner of the governorship election on Sunday.
Before Another Four-Year Term
Governor Dapo Abiodun is a founding member of the PDP in Ogun State.
However, he defected after the 2015 general elections in Nigeria.
He was elected as a senator on the platform of the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) in 1998.
He has also served as a member of various presidential committees and organisations.

Governor Abiodun contested the Ogun East senatorial seat on the platform APC in the 2015 general elections but lost to his PDP opponent.
In 2019, he also contested the governorship election on the APC platform and he won.
He has once again won the seat on the APC platform for another four-year term.
