The Enugu State Police Command has revealed that members of its joint police-Army team are currently on the trail of some gunmen who killed a yet-to-be-ascertained number of persons in Ebor, Eha-Amufu community in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of the state on Sunday during an attack.

The spokesman of the state police command, Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the development journalists.
“Sketchy report at my disposal shows that there was an attack. But the assailants were repelled by a joint police/Army team, that is currently trailing them,” Ndukwe said in a text message sent to our correspondent.
According to security sources, the assailants who outnumbered soldiers and local vigilantes, launched the attack early Sunday morning, adding that several people were killed.
“As I speak to you, we are combing bushes in search of the bodies of those killed. I can’t tell now the exact number of people killed as we are still combing the bushes,” one of the sources said.

A community leader, who gave his name as Ogbuabor Samuel, also confirmed the attack.
“Several people have been killed, at least we have recovered the bodies of 10 people,” he said.
