The Union of Journalists Of South Sudan (UJOSS) says none of its members are missing for reporting about the president.
A viral video was shared in which the country’s president, Salva Kiir Mayardit, was wetting himself while singing the national anthem, on Tuesday.
IBrandTV reported that the video sparked many reactions among social media users including calling for the president that has been in power since 2011, to resign.
Some social media users said the video ought to have not made it online as it is bad media practice.
Following the release of the video, journalists that reported it were allegedly said to have been missing and some others, dead.
Unconfirmed reports have said that one of the journalists committed suicide after blaming himself for negligence and allowing the video to circulate.

The journalist whose name is unknown was said to have reportedly left a note where he took the blame for showing a photographer friend of his, the video.
He then proceeded to hang himself from the ceiling fan at his residence.
However, UJOSS said the circulating rumors of missing journalists were untrue.
This was revealed in a statement signed by the union’s president, Oyet Patrick Charles, on Saturday.
The statement reads, “UJOSS has come across messages circulating on various social media platforms alleging that a number of South Sudanese journalists have been arrested.
“UJOSS, therefore, would like to make it abundantly clear that as per our records, at the moment, there is no journalist that has been arrested and no journalist is missing.”
