Traders in Ikorodu and its environs have received sensitisation from Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA), on the dangers of trading on pipelines.
LASIMRA in collaboration with Falcons Corporation took the campaign against vandalising and trading on the pipeline to traders in Ikorodu.
LASIMRA’s Director of Technical Operations, Tunji Adeyemi, urged the people to desist from displaying their ware in areas where petroleum and gas pipelines are buried.
Adeyemi noted that the sensitisation program is to enlighten traders on the dangers of trading around the area and adhering to safety to safeguard lives and properties.
Community Relations Officer of Falcon Corporation, Michael Shonibi, noted that Falcon has been holding campaigns in Ikorodu for over 10 years to ensure safety.
“We want to sensitise the people of Ikorodu about the existence of a gas pipeline. It’s not that they are not aware but being human beings, we need to remind them and this is something Falcon has been doing for the last 10 years …’’
