Kidnappers Demand N50m Ransom For Seminarian’s Release

The kidnappers of Deputy Registrar of Spiritan University, Nneochi, Fr Chinedu Nwadike, have demanded N50 million ransom for his release.

Fr Chinedu Nwadike, a Catholic priest, was kidnapped on Friday, near a military checkpoint around the Umunnochi axis, along Enugu-Okigwe Road.

The kidnappers took Fr Chinedu Nwadike, alongside a seminarian, Emmanuel Nwafor.

Information gathered revealed that the kidnappers have established contact with the relations of those abducted and are now demanding a ransom of N50m.

The priest’s younger brother, Chikezie, said the family was praying for the safe return of his younger brother and the seminarian.

Director of Enugu Catholic Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Benjamin Achi, confirmed the incident but refused to provide any other information
