Professor Folasade Ogunsola has changed an age-long tradition in the University of Lagos by emerging as the first female acting Vice Chancellor in the institution’s 58-year history.
She was elected by members of the school’s Senate in a behind closed doors meeting held earlier today.
Recall that IBrandTV had reported that Unilag Senate members were barred from the Senate building as they moved to appoint a new acting VC.
Ogunsola polled a total of 135 of the 167 cast votes, while her closest challenger, Prof. Ben Ogbojafor earned 35.
A special visitation panel is currently looking into allegations against suspended VC Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe.
