Breaking: Unilag Senate members barred from building as they move to appoint acting VC

Some members of the University of Lagos’ Senate were today, barred from gaining access to the building’s main auditorium as they were billed to meet to nominate an acting Vice Chancellor for the institution.

They were stopped by a memo pasted on the auditorium door and signed by the Registrar, Oladejo Azeez.

The statement read, “This is to inform all Senate members that no meeting of the Senate has been summoned, members should await proper notice of meeting after the Federal Government of Nigeria has clarified some issues germane to the meeting.”

The members, however, gained entry to the main auditorium after some workers opened it later on.

They are currently in the auditorium holding the intended meeting.
