From December 2025 to March 2026, shares rose from ₦61.80 to ₦113.30, pushing market value past ₦4.5 trillion.
At the same time, trading activity surged, making Zenith Bank one of the most actively traded stocks on the Nigerian Exchange.
Additionally, the bank briefly overtook Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc as Nigeria’s most capitalised institution.
Furthermore, Zenith Bank became the second Nigerian bank to surpass ₦100 per share, following GTCO.
Zenith Global Expansion Ambitions
Looking ahead, the bank plans a full London Stock Exchange listing by 2027 to attract global investors.
Although it already trades Global Depository Receipts on the LSE, a full listing would elevate its international profile.

Meanwhile, Zenith Bank opened a new Manchester branch, marking its first UK expansion beyond London, focusing on corporate banking.
The branch also provides trade finance and treasury services, creating approximately 30 jobs and supporting UK–Africa trade.
In addition, the bank plans a branch in Ivory Coast to reinforce its West African footprint and pan-African ambitions.
Market Confidence Soars
Between mid-December 2025 and mid-March 2026, investors traded 2.52 billion Zenith Bank shares, ranking it fifth on NGX.
Analysts note that investors rewarded Umeoji’s strategy, which combines strong fundamentals with ambitious global expansion plans.
As a result, Zenith Bank positions itself as a bridge between African markets and international financial centres worldwide.
Overall, early 2026 performance demonstrates the bank actively shaping growth, strategy, and investor trust, not just riding a wave.
