Buhari swears-in Lawan’s aide, 11 others as NASS Service Commission

Calls for Buhari's resignation foolish - Presidency

 

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday swore-in former Chief of Staff to the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan and the Campaign Director of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as members of the National Assembly Service Commission.

 

The former Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Ahmed Kadi Amshi who is also from Yobe State as Lawan is the Chairman of the commission, while Atanomeyorwi Francis from Delta State who was of the Omo-Agege Campaign team represents the South South.

 

The twelve member commission which is mainly principal officers nominees, has representatives from the six geopolitical zones of the country with South East having only one person, Senator Julius Ucha from Ebonyi State.

 

Other members of the Constitution are Babagana Modu, Borno, North East; Abubakar Tutare, Taraba, North East; Hakeem Akamo, Lagos, South West; Tunrayo Akintomide, Ondo, South West.

 

Others are: Bassey Etuk, Akwa-Ibom; South South, Bailyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi, Zamfara, North West; Sani Saidu Kazaure, Jigawa, North West; Julius Ucha, Ebonyi, South East; Auwalu Aliyu Ohindase, Kogi, North Central, ; and Muazu Is’haq, Nasarawa, North Centra.

 

The inauguration which was witnessed by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno, retd, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha and the members of the Federal Executive Council, FEC.

 

Also present were Alhaji Mohammed Sani-Omolori Clerk to the National Assembly and Mr. Olusanya Ajakaiye Secretary, National Assembly Service.

 

There was a mild drama before the inauguration as the NSA, Monguno had sat two seats apart before he was beckoned by the Chief of Staff, Mallam Kyari to take his normal seat which is a seat apart from the Chief of Staff.
