Michelle Trachtenberg, the former child star who captivated audiences throughout the 1990s and 2000s, has tragically passed away at the age of 39.
Authorities in Manhattan confirmed that police responded to an emergency call on Wednesday morning, where they discovered Trachtenberg unconscious and unresponsive.
Despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The American actress was widely recognised for her portrayal of Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Later in her career, she became a fan favourite for her role as the cunning and manipulative Georgina Sparks in the hit drama series Gossip Girl.
“Fiercely Intelligent”
Trachtenberg made her big-screen debut in 1996 as the lead in Harriet the Spy.
Also, she starred in several Nickelodeon productions.
This solidifies her place as a beloved figure in children’s and teen entertainment.
Following the devastating news, co-stars and industry colleagues paid heartfelt tributes to the late actress.
They described her as a “fiercely intelligent” individual who had an unwavering passion for her craft.
Her family’s representatives confirmed her passing in an official statement.

Furthermore, authorities have stated that there is no suspicion of foul play surrounding her death.
In a statement, the New York Police Department clarified: “Criminality is not suspected. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing”.
