Jamb Registration: Everything You Need to Know

The registration for the 2025 UTME commenced on Monday, February 3, 2025, and will end on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the body responsible for organising the exams, has already released information regarding the process for this year’s examination.

Everything You Need to Know About JAMB 2025 Registration

JAMB’s Age Requirement for Candidates

JAMB has specified that candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025.

However, if a candidate is below this age but demonstrates exceptional brilliance, they may still be considered.

For such candidates to be considered, they must have scored at least 80% in each of the following exams: UTME, A-Level, PUTME, SSC, and the exceptional candidate examination.

Step-by-Step Process for 2025 UTME/DE Registration

Create A Profile

The first step in the registration process is for each candidate to create a personal profile.

Also, this requires the use of a unique mobile phone number for the registration.

The number used must belong solely to the candidate.

Also, this number will serve as the candidate’s unique identifier for all future transactions with JAMB.

Requirements for Profile Creation

Candidates will also need their National Identification Number (NIN) during the registration process.

Also, It’s important to note that post-paid or special bundle package lines will not work unless they are specially credited.

Receiving the Profile Code and e-PIN

After sending the necessary text, candidates will receive a Profile Code on the same phone number.

Returning candidates from previous years will retain the same Profile Code linked to the number they used earlier.

Once the profile has been created, JAMB will send an e-PIN via text.

Visiting a JAMB Accredited CBT Centre

Candidates will need to present both their Profile Code and e-PIN at any JAMB-accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre.

The registration process will not be considered complete until the candidate’s biometrics are captured, and a photo is taken. Note that passport photographs are not accepted for this part of the process.

Printing the e-Registration Slip

After the successful biometric capture and photograph, candidates will be authorised to print their e-registration slip.

It is required to use at least two fingers for fingerprint capture.

Biometric Verification for Further Transactions

Candidates’ fingerprints will be used for future verification of their profiles.

Group/School-Based Registration

JAMB does not permit group or school-based registration for candidates.

Only those candidates who successfully pass their biometric verification will be authorised to sit for the UTME or any mock exams.
