President Tinubu Embarks On Private Trip To France – Here’s Why

For those wondering about the latest international travel of President Tinubu, then search no further.

You see, the Nigerian president has departed Abuja for Paris, France, on what has been described as a private visit.

This was confirmed in an official statement released on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

According to Bayo Onanuga,  the trip is initially for personal engagements in France.

However, President Tinubu is also scheduled to proceed to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

There, he will participate in a high-level African Union (AU) summit.

Details surrounding the nature of his visit to France remain private.

Meanwhile, it has been disclosed that President Tinubu will take the opportunity to engage in diplomatic discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Also, this meeting is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and France.

Participation in the African Union Summit

Following his visit to France, President Tinubu will travel to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, early next week to attend the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council.

It is also the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) Heads of State.

However, the summit is scheduled to take place from February 12th to 16th, 2025.

Also, he will see African leaders convening to deliberate on pressing continental issues.

These issues includes economic integration, security challenges, and regional development strategies.
