American rapper Megan Thee Stallion has been granted a five-year restraining order against fellow rapper Tory Lanez.
Tory Lanez is currently serving a ten-year prison sentence.
The restraining order was issued following a Los Angeles court hearing on Thursday, January 10, 2025.
However, Megan appeared remotely via video to testify.
Lanez was convicted in 2023 for shooting Megan in the feet after a party at Kylie Jenner’s home in 2020.
This is a case that garnered widespread attention and sparked debates about violence against women in the music industry.
During her testimony, Megan expressed her ongoing fear of Tory Lanez, stating that she still feels threatened despite his incarceration.
“I feel like maybe he [Tory Lanez] will shoot me again, and maybe this time I won’t make it,” she said.
The judge granted Megan a five-year civil harassment restraining order.
This order legally prohibits Lanez from contacting or coming near her, even while he remains behind bars.

Rolling Stone senior reporter Nancy Dillon shared that Lanez’s lawyer conveyed his client’s stance.
He stated that the rapper “has no desire to communicate with the petitioner [Megan] ever again.”
