Real Madrid doubled their lead seven minutes into the second half, courtesy of a sublime curling strike from Rodrygo.

The referee reviewed the goal via a pitchside monitor but ruled it valid, as Jude Bellingham was not deemed to interfere from an offside position.

Pachuca captain Salomon Rondon nearly reduced the deficit with a long-range free-kick, but Thibaut Courtois made a crucial save.

Rondon also sent a header narrowly over the crossbar as Pachuca pushed for a goal.

The victory was capped off by a penalty goal from Vinicius Jr, after Lucas Vazquez was brought down by Oussama Idrissi.
