The Frenchman was introduced as a second-half substitute as his side ran out 1-0 winners against PSG in Munich on Tuesday.

Before he was allowed on, the fourth official noticed Olise was not wearing shin guards and told him to put some on.

Olise eventually put them on, but threw them away before he entered the field.

The International Football Association Board’s (IFAB) regulations dictate that all players must wear shin guards, meaning that the 22-year-old broke the rules and could be punished by UEFA.

While there have been concerns about player safety as modern shin guards are viewed by many as too small to offer proper protection, IFAB does not regulate the size.

Bayern were 1-0 up when Olise made his appearance and the win puts the German giants in 13th place with nine points.

Vincent Kompany’s team are only a point outside of the top eight, though, with three games left.
