The Adamawa State Police Command announced on Wednesday that two men, Ezekiel Kefas, 67 and Stephen Zabadi, 44, from Wamsa Suwa Ward in Lamurde Local Government Area, had been arrested for the alleged murder of a police officer, Ibrahim Maizabuwa.
According to reports, Maizabuwa worked in Gombe State but was killed by the suspects in Wamsa Suwa Ward in Lamurde Local Government Area of Adamawa State for allegedly destroying pots of soup.
Also, it was revealed that the deceased police officer visited his friend, Ezekiel Kefas, in the village where the incident occurred.
Kefas said: “My friend came and started destroying properties including pots of soup and water in my house and assaulting people as a result of which women and children raised the alarm which attracted thugs who beat him to death.
“The suspected killers include Yakubu Suleiman and Kilyobas. They beat him with sticks to death. Yesterday, we went to the houses of those who committed the crime, but we didn’t meet any of them.”
The Suspects
However, the Adamawa State Police Command revealed that the two suspects who were arrested in connection to the gruesome murder of the police officer were in its custody.
Furti, the spokesman for the police command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspects were apprehended on November 19, following a complaint to the police command by the son of the deceased, Danlami Ibrahim Maizabuwa, who also hailed from Gombe.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, had ordered a discreet investigation and prosecution of the suspects.

He exclusively told our correspondent that a preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased gave two cows to his friend in Lamurde for safekeeping and that he visited to see the condition of the cows when he was attacked unprovoked and killed.
