Lamine Yamal is likely to miss Barcelona’s Champions League clash against Brest after he missed training on Monday.
The Barcelona sensation, who picked up an ankle injury and missed the club’s last two La Liga encounters against Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo respectively, was absent from Hansi Flick’s training session on Monday and is likely to remain out of the matchday squad for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Brest, according to journalist Helena Condis Edo.
The 17-year-old’s absence will be a blow to Flick as he aims to get his team back to winning ways.
Since the Euro 2024-winning Spanish star picked up the injury, the Catalan giants’s seven-match winning streak across all competitions came to an end.
After they suffered a 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad, they squandered a two-goal lead and dropped crucial points against Celta Vigo last weekend.
Until his ankle injury, Yamal displayed terrific form in the 2024-25 campaign having scored six goals and providing eight assists in 16 matches across all competitions.
With the teenager in the team, the Catalan giants have lost just two matches in the current season.
